Our Purpose

Our overall purpose at Milestone is to help people deepen their relationship with Jesus. Through engaging worship, practical teaching, and meaningful connections, we strive to equip people to live out their faith daily. Our goal is to inspire and empower people to share the hope of Christ with others, making a lasting impact in their families, communities, and beyond.

Our Beliefs

What We Believe About God

We believe in one God who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ (the Son of God) became human and sacrificed his life to save us from sin.

What We Believe About Salvation

We believe Jesus is the only person to ever live a sinless life and ultimately sacrificed His life by dying on the cross for us. God offers to restore our relationship with Him if we acknowledge our sin and accept what He did for us through His death and resurrection. Salvation is a gift from God and is not a result of good works or of any human efforts.

What We Believe About The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the authoritative Word of God. It was written by human authors under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and is the source of all truth for our understanding of faith and how we should live life.

What We Believe About Baptism

Once we have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior, baptism is a way for us to publicly announce our new life in Christ. It is the outward sign of what God has already done in our lives and is also a step of obedience based on God’s commands.

What We Believe About Humankind

We believe that all people were made in the likeness of God and were made to be like Him in character. However, due to our disobedience toward God, we are separated from Him. As a result, people are incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through their own efforts.

What We Believe About The Church

We believe that the church is the body of Christ, with Jesus Christ as the head. Every person who follows Jesus is an integral part of the church as a member of the body of believers. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by becoming more like Him and by making Him known to those who don’t believe.

Meet Our Pastor

James Carter

Pastor James Carter has been serving in church ministry since 2000. For nearly two decades, he and his wife, Holly have dedicated their lives to missionary work in Australia, sharing the Gospel and strengthening local churches on the East and West Australian Coast. In 2019, they returned to the United States, and in 2020, Pastor Carter became the lead pastor of Milestone Baptist Church.

Pastor James and Holly have two adult children and one grandkid. When he’s not serving the church, you’ll likely find him restoring vintage furniture or brewing a cup of artisan coffee.
